Bitarel Hot Applied Sealant
Purpose: the sealant is designed for filling longitudinal and transverse expansion seams in highway and air field surfaces, as well as joints between cement concrete pavements and asphalt coated road curbs for road climatic zones 3 and 4.
How to use: all sealing and waterproofing works should be performed in dry weather at an ambient temperature of at least 5°С. All surfaces must be dry and clean. Before applying the sealant, it is recommended to treat the surface with a primer for expansion joints. The sealant is used for insulation or waterproofing after the primer has dried completely. The sealant is heated until liquid. The sealant can be used at a temperature -30°С to +80°С. When sealing seams and cracks at an air temperature of more than 25°С, the sealed joints should be sprinkled with dolomite filler, chalk, talc, crushed rubber or other finely dispersed inert materials to avoid sticking. Do not store the sealant for more than 8 hours when heated.
Average consumption: 1.1-3.8 kg/m² (sealant consumption depends on the type of work performed).
Packaging: the sealant is supplied in siliconized boxes of 15 kg or in paper bags of 25 kg or more.
The sealant meets the requirements of EN 14188-2004.
